My Aunt's boyfriend is in the band. The song Plague by them is really cool.

They are really cool. I have the original "I dont know you" cd before they added the 2 new songs "shes a tiger" and the other one, I forget the name.

If u havent heard them they u dunno what u are missing. Undoubtedly, they are better than all others in their genre, and then some.

yeah, I love Lola Ray. I just got their cd and so far i love it! Just a question: does John Balicanta (or the whole band) have something against gay people? Check the lyrics in "Preach On" and you'll see what I mean.

john has no problem with gay people. in fact, that band would be the last band to have a problem with gay people. i think the song you're thinking of is actually 'our brown friends' where he says "came upon a ratty little f*ggot, whiney little f*ggot, thank God we found him" but if you listen to the entire point of the song, like the chorus, you hear that it's about people not accepting others because of sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc, and trying to change them to make them 'right.' yeah...great band. how did everyone hear of them??

whoops . I mean "Our Brown Friends," just not familiar with the song titles yet. And why would they be the last band to have a problem with gay people? Oh and I just saw a review of the album in Entertainment Weekly. I freaked. It was awesome. They got a B, though I think they totally deserved an A.

P.S. I heard about them in Teen People, they had this tiny little box on them like five months ago. I remembered to watch out for them in May and then just typed their name into Google. I got their website and listened to the music, decided I liked it and bought the album. Voila! Wink

I saw Lola Ray with Phantom Planet [on of my favorite bands] in March. They all signed my CD. John thought I was hot and the bassist kept hitting on me and my friend. They rock. I'm getting their CD tomorrow, if they have it. I hope they do.

Hey what other bands here do you guys all like?.. And this is my opinion on things, but i think its dumb when people judge others by what they listen to. So say all the bands you like, even if its some bluegrass.lol jk

LOLA RAY IS AWESOME. enough said. we saw them in concert last weekend && they kicked ass. just like "jess", they all signed our cds && posters && john told our friend kate she was hot as shit, && james, the bassist, was hitting on us. Awesome nite, we had so much fun. we emailed the band as well, and whats makes them even cooler is that they took the time to email back. they`re all really cool people && you should all buy their cd!
