It's from their CD single "Have It All" which includes "Have It All", "Darling Nikki" and "Disenchanted Lullaby" (Live Acoustic).

In case you're wondering, you will not find "Darling Nikki" on "One By One"...only on the "Have It All" single.

OK, so I realized that it's been 20 years since I 1st heard this song...the fact that Zack is drumming made me realize why, tho I was completely flipped in my car when I heard it, I still kinda dug it...but, ah, my boyz...it's all about the guitar solo, which no one even dared to touch.

Having since found out it was the Foo Fighters, I'm going to give that up to reference, cuz you are just about as old as me and I know that if you play guitar you know that entire solo! ha ha ha ha ha ha...that's what's missin' babe.

But I'll say again, having found out it was FF doing it, I give it a much higher rating. Damn I'm old!

Thanks Dave for contributing to the legal Prince fund...specially since he will be inducted this year, eh?

Very cool to here this song on the radio tonight. That never would've happened 20 years ago.

Nice to hear a great interpretation of the song by a great band.

Hey anyone know the story behind Prince and Dave Grohl's conversations? He was telling us at the concert in Atlanta but I couldn't understand him. Iwould love to know the story.

I think ya'll are crazy. Don't get me wrong, I'm a grohl fan, he's a great drummer (check out killing joke, songs for the deaf and probot).

But when I heard this cover on the radio, not knowing it was Grohl and Co., I nearly vomited. It has none of the depth of the original, no spirit of mischief, no haunting vocal that makes you feel dirty for listening to it...and NO cool drumming. That's what makes the original, the drumming...not the guitar solo, although it is cool. Incredibly unique drum sounds, spirited performances, and textured bizarre instrumentation, none of which exist in the lifeless bathroom punk pop version of Foo's.

I do give Foo credit for bringing an important song into popularity again, but that's where the congrats stop. I have a feeling that most on this website haven't even heard the original. Give the original justice, 5 listens, then come back and rate this cover.

I own Purple Rain and I still like this cover.

As for "Boys of Summer", that's a brutal and unnecessary cover.
