I'm so sick of the teeny bopper posts on pages for bands like Good Charlotte and Blink 182 that I'm seriously considering instilling a minimum age restriction to post on these pages.

First, I'd like to open this up to the SLS community. Tell me why this is a good or bad idea.

I'm thinking maybe 19 should be the cut-off age. Anyone under that age rarely has anything interesting to say and they always use that annoying IM-speak with an abuse of the MTSmileys.

Let me have it...

first of all that's a horrible idea, mainly because i'm 13. second of all i rarely use the smileys and im talk. Plus you would be losing a lot of people on this website. The only annoying people are the one's that only use the smiley's for talking and the people that use so much of the im talk that you can barely understand what they're saying. Please do not put an age limit on this website.

Does anyone over the age of 19 have an opinion about this?

Doubt it, most people here are under 19.

Even if you did put an age restriction, it's not going to stop people from coming. You could ban IP, but any retard knows how to hide that.

I really don't see how you can put an age restriction.

Most people that post are under 19.

An age restriction wont stop me, if I still want to post here.

I would consider it an offence if I was told not to post.

In some forums they ban people for a certain amount of time. Where there's moderators who has power of who can post things or not. In some cases when someone gets annoying they are restricted from posting until a point where they can come back. So im wondering if this forum has that type of rule and if it can be done.

If we banned people for being annoying we'd have banned just about everybody by now. We can, but we won't.

If there were an age limit, there wouldn’t be many people posting, kinda defeats the purpose of a forum. Even so, people would still find a way to post.
Sorry if I’m being “annoying” I give most people that impression. I take it as a compliment.

ok...i'm going to pretend that first comment about teenyboppers isn't related to being under 19. Because I see how when I have my 19th birthday, I won't like anything that I did when I was 15. I'm sure I'll automatically go through some metamorphasis and I'll be one of the "elite" such as yourselves. As of now I'm interested in literature, I'm making plans for college, I'm writing novels of my own in hopes to publish them. I'm not 19. Sorry.

You can't stereotype everyone under nineteen as being the ones who post about bands like GC and blink-182. Many adults like those bands as well.

Also, not everyone under 19 uses incorrect grammar and english. I'd say it's mostly the kids 14 and under. But kids aren't the only ones who speak and type incorrectly. You'd be surprised how many adults can't even write a simple paragraph.
